AUTOVAZ has spent long over-the-road tests LADA KALINA for the purpose of definition of reliability of the car and acknowledgement of the characteristics put in its design. Tests have shown: after 240 thousand kilometres of run LADA KALINA remains in a good condition.

Two sedans of family LADA KALINA from among the first serial samples have been subject to long over-the-road tests. Cars were maintained according to AUTOVAZ instructions: the first servicing is spent at run of 3000 km, the second – between 14 and 15 thousand run, and then – everyone 15 thousand kilometres. By the way, examination of the engine oils ordered by AUTOVAZ has shown, what even before replacement through everyone 15 thousand kilometres they basically kept the operational properties. Cars were tested on country highways, high-speed and lines of factory proving ground, and also in mountain areas of Russia. Run also have been engaged in the program of tests with a luggage compartment on a roof and with the 900-kilogramme trailer. Approximately 70 % of run cars went with an interior and luggage compartment total load. Cars were stored on open parking at temperature from-30 to +30 degrees.

After overcoming of 240 thousand kilometres both cars have been tested in laboratories of the scientific and technical centre of AUTOVAZ, then completely disassembled and checked up on deterioration degree. Following the results of probe it was found out that cars have not reached a limiting wear, and are still serviceable. In particular, in a good condition there was an engine, a gear box, a suspender, a steer, brakes and other basic knots.

Both cars have kept demanded body stiffness. Thanks to it LADA KALINA even after a continuous exploitation provides necessary level of passive safety and roadability which depend on ruggedness and strength of a body.

High-speed properties LADA KALINA also have not changed after 240 thousand kilometres: max has made about 160 km/hour, dispersal to 100 km/hour – 13,5 seconds. Fuel consumption too remained at level of passport indicators – 7,8 litres on 100 kilometres. The engine has kept the capacity (59,5 kw at 5200 turns in a minute) and twisting moment size (120 Nanometers at 2500-2900 turns in a minute). Preliminary treatment of an electronic engine management system has confirmed its serviceability.

During resource tests through cars LADA KALINA everyone 15 thousand were located at 6 o’clock in the chamber of a salt fog for check of anticorrosive protection. After 240 thousand kilometres of run appearance of a paint and varnish covering remained in norm. Sites of a body, which can be the corrosion centres (welding seams, flange connections and the body bottom), have appeared are not subject to a rust. Corrosion it is not revealed even in thresholds and other latent cavities of a body which after tests have been specially cut.

Results of tests are already used and today are applied in works on modernisation of design LADA KALINA. So, thanks to resource tests the manufacturing techniques of the catalyst converter which has raised strength and efficiency of knot have been corrected. Examinees of the car have received new system of drop of toxicity when have passed already on 90 thousand kilometres. After following 150 thousand kilometres cars LADA KALINA have kept the ecological compatibility up to the standard “Euro-3”.


Since January, 26th, 2009 of Open Society AUTOVAZ has increased cost prices for cars LADA. On the average on all lineup increase has made 2,45 %. AUTOVAZ within eight months, from the beginning of June, 2008, did not increase holiday cost of cars in spite of the fact that rise in prices in the Russian automobile market became the general tendency. In the beginning of December, 2008 Open Society AUTOVAZ management, considering interests of buyers, has made decision not to raise cost of cars LADA till January, 26th, 2009. Thus, cost prices for cars LADA have grown in 2008 on 4,3 % at a rate of inflation more than 12 %. By results of 9 months 2008 Open Society AUTOVAZ net profit has made 834 million roubles that below a similar indicator of 2007. It speaks reduction of profitability of sales owing to advancing rate of increase of the cost price of production at preservation of the prices for cars. And one of the reasons of increase in the cost price is the intensive rise in prices for metal (on the average, more than on 50 % from the beginning of year), commodity-material assets and services of monopolies (gas, the electric power, heat-carriers, rail transportation).

The factory does not have money to pay for accessories.

Since 2009 of Autovases is going to pay money only 30 % of contracts with suppliers, the newspaper “Kommersant” writes today. Factory partners believe that as a result there will be a chain reaction of non-payments. It will most painfully strike on suppliers of the second and third level up to their stop which can turn back a stop the Autovase. To avoid it state money will help only, the experts interrogated by the newspaper are assured. Autovases recognised that for the end of the year will save up before suppliers a debt in volume nearby 20 mlrd rbl. and money for repayment is not present. Instead 30 % of the sum of Autovases will pay the bills, 30 more % — bills of banks working with factory, 10 % is necessary on faktoringovye to operation (presumably Alpha bank), and on money — the remained 30 %. The scheme of calculations on new deliveries will be such also. It will start to operate since February when Autovases will earn after a vacation. As the bill scheme will long exist, suppliers do not know. They only know that term of repayment of bills will make not less half a year. The president the Autovase Boris Alyoshin has confirmed “” that the factory enters the new scheme of calculations with suppliers, and also has specified debts volume — 19 mlrd rbl. According to Alyoshin, it “should be generated only by the end of the year and can be more low, all depends that at factory will be with sales”. Sales now fall (by estimations of Bank of Moscow, on some families — on 20 %), and Alyoshin already said that warehouse stocks will reach by the end of the year 125 thousand cars (two-month volume). As writes analytical business weekly journal Smart Money, “the destiny the Autovase directly depends on state of health Renault in our market. It can appear that to Frenchmen will be any more before modernisation of the Tolyatti factory”.


Open Society “Autovaz”, the largest Russian motor-car manufacturer, since Monday leaves on a New Year’s vacation which will last till January, 30th inclusive, the factory press-service informs. Earlier Tolyatti car factory declared introduction of additional days off on December, 29th and 30, and also from January, 11 till January, 16th, then days of a New Year’s vacation have been prolonged till January, 30th. According to the press-service, the decision on an operating procedure is co-ordinated with trade union “Autovaz”. Payment to workers will be made according to the labour code of the Russian Federation. According to the labour schedule, the schedule of work of kindergartens, medical institutions of factory, a dining room and passenger transport will change. Press-service “Autovaz” does not make comments on the reason of prolongation of a New Year’s vacation at factory. In days of a New Year’s vacation of Open Society “Autovaz” plans to carry planned out repairs and equipment modernisation for the sum about 240 million roubles. During a December and January vacation experts of line fault services of car factory and firms-contractors will be occupied in all manufactures of car factory, mark in the company press-service. In the end of a January vacation all equipment “Autovaz” will be tested in operating conditions. “Autovaz” is the largest manufacturer of cars in Russia. In 2007 the company has sold 663,5 thousand cars that is a record indicator for the enterprise for all operating time in the domestic market. In the first half of the year 2008 the net profit on RSBU has made 1,48 billion roubles.
